Foreign organizations support migrant trafficking along Bulgarian-Turkish border

On February 7, a border patrol with Frontex officers, after hours of surveillance, seized a car with two Italian citizens, one from Spain and one from Lithuania in the area of the town of Zvezdets. Those posing as members of an NGO met a group of 11 illegal migrants from Morocco. The European citizens and the illegals were taken to the police in the town of Malko Tarnovo.

A complaint file was filed against the Europeans and they were released. An extradition case is being urgently filed against the Moroccan citizens and they are temporarily housed in Lyubimets. They said that they paid 150 euros each to a Turkish plumber to take them to the border fence. He gave them coordinates where to go and get logistics.

According to the Border Police, in recent months,  foreign citizens posing as volunteers have been detained in similar circumstances more than 5 times.
