In the mountains the weather is sunny and clear, conditions are suitable for tourism, the Bulgarian Red Cross’ mountain rescue service says, as quoted by the Bulgarian news agency BTA.
During the past 24 hours there have been no incidents involving tourists. Nevertheless, mountain rescuers caution tourists in the mountain resorts not to stray from the hiking routes and ski runs as conditions are icy in many areas. Hikers must use suitable shoes, and if they encounter impassable areas they should turn back or find a way to go around.
