A contingent from Austria, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria starts guarding the Bulgarian-Turkish border

On February 3 (Monday), a joint contingent of officers from Bulgaria, Austria, Romania and Hungary will begin guarding the Bulgaria-Turkiye border, which is now an external border of the Schengen Area. The start of the joint operation will be marked by an official ceremony. Bulgaria's Minister of Interior Daniel Mitov will welcome his Romanian and Hungarian counterparts- Marian-Cătălin Predoiu and Sándor Pintér, as well as a delegation led by Franz Ruf, the Director General for Public Security at the Austrian Federal Ministry of Interior.

The delegations' program includes a visit to the green border in the area of the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint and the signing of a joint document regulating the actions of the contingent.
