Bulgaria returns to the Davis Cup World Group I

The Bulgarian national tennis team returned to the Davis Cup World Group I after defeating Romania 3-1 in Craiova. The decisive point came from Adrian Andreev, who, despite suffering from a severe flu during the past week, defeated Romania’s top player, Filip Cristian Jianu, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 in a match that lasted 2 hours and 46 minutes.

Earlier, Alexander Donski and Petr Nesterov won the doubles match, defeating Gabi Boitan and Victor Cornea 6-3, 6-3, giving Bulgaria a 2-1 lead.

In the first two singles matches, Ilyan Radulov won against Filip Jianu 6-3, 7-6(3), and Petr Nesterov lost 7-6(6), 3-6, 6-7(3) to Cezar Crețu.
