Weather forecast for 28 January

Warm winter day with sunshine and highs up to 18°C

On Tuesday, fog will cover many lowlands and valleys. Around midday, visibility will temporarily improve in most areas, except along the Danube and in the western part of the Upper Thracian Plain. Minimum temperatures will be between -2°C and 3°C, slightly higher in the eastern regions and the pre-Balkan area, with Sofia around -1°C. 

During the day, most of the country will enjoy sunny weather with scattered medium and high clouds. A moderate south-southwesterly wind will blow in eastern Bulgaria and along the northern slopes of the mountains. Maximum temperatures will be between 13°C and 18°C, with Sofia reaching around 13°C.

In the mountains the weather will be sunny with a strong south-westerly wind. The maximum temperature will be 13°C at 1,200 metres and around 7°C at 2,000 metres.

Along the Black Sea coast, morning clouds will quickly clear, leaving sunny weather for most of the day. Maximum temperatures will be between 11°C and 15°C, with sea temperatures around 8-9°C and waves around 2 on the Beaufort scale.

Wednesday will remain unseasonably warm for late January. Clouds will increase and isolated light rain is possible in western Bulgaria.
