MPs refuse to discuss activities of US NGOs in Bulgaria

Stanislav Anastasov

MPs decided to change the National Assembly's agenda. At the suggestion of "DPS - New Beginning", the first topic on “establishing a temporary commission to investigate the presence of US influence on Bulgaria, including through NGOs" was removed. This led to a dispute between "Vazrazhdane" party and "DPS - New Beginning".

"I cannot understand why you have included a disgraceful item on the agenda. Our country is a member of NATO, where the US is a major partner," Stanislav Anastasov said. He added that "DPS - New Beginning" will submit a request to investigate the influence of NGOs that work entirely in private business interests.

"Tomorrow Bulgaria may not be in NATO", MP Tsoncho Ganev from Varzazhdane party said.
