During the largest tourist exhibition for end customers in Europe – CMT Stuttgart, the architectural complex “Museum of Religions” in Stara Zagora won one of the three major awards in the International CT AWARD competition, BTA has reported. The award is in the category “Promoting Interreligious Dialogue” and was won in competition with 18 countries.
The Museum of Religions in Stara Zagora is located in the Eski Mosque built in 1409. It was the only surviving building after the city was burned down in 1877 and temporarily served as a church. After archaeological research, the foundations of a Christian temple from the 10th century, a Thracian sanctuary from the 10th century BC and a cult pit from the Roman era were exhibited in the hall. The idea of the exhibition is the continuity of places of worship and the message that it is not important to which God or how you pray, but what you pray for.
