North Macedonia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Timco Mucunski held a phone conversation with Bulgaria’s newly elected Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev, describing it as friendly. ''I Had a friendly first phone call with Georg Georgiev, the new Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria. I congratulated him on his appointment and expressed our determination to strengthen the partnership, enhance cooperation and jointly contribute to regional stability and mutual progress'', Timco Mucinski wrote on the social network X.

In an interview with Telma TV, Timco Mucunski said that he knows Georg Georgiev and that Skopje is ready to discuss with the regular Bulgarian government the proposal to amend North Macedonia’s constitution, but with the stipulation that the inclusion of Bulgarians in it should come into force with a delayed effect, which would create predictability for the country’s European integration, according to BTA. According to North Macedonia’s diplomat, Skopje is ready for compromise with Sofia, but not at any cost, and also seeks a revision of the Protocol for the implementation of the Treaty of Friendship, Good Neighbourliness and Cooperation.
