The Bulgarian Football Union (BFU) stands to lose over EUR 300,000 if the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne rejects the BFU’s appeal against the FIFA decision in the case filed by former national coach Mladen Krstajic, sports lawyer Georgi Gradev has announced, as quoted by BGNES.

In April, FIFA ruled that the BFU must pay Serbian coach Krstajic and his assistants – Stefan Jankovic and Nemanja Milincic – EUR 312,000 in compensation, with interest due on this sum. The BFU is appealing the decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The two sides were heard our on 18 December and the court is now due to make a ruling.

Mladen Krstajic was manager of the Bulgarian national team for a little over a year and was sacked at the end of October, 2023 over poor performance.
