The amount of snow that has fallen in the Rhodopes this December is a record for the past 10 years. Speaking for public service broadcaster BNT, caretaker Minister of Tourism Evtim Miloshev expressed hope that the Pamporovo resort will have a strong tourist season, given the excellent winter conditions and the heavy snowfall.
The problems related to the workforce in tourism remain, but tourists expect good service, said Minister Miloshev. In his words, Bulgaria has an excellent infrastructure for training tourism employees. However, there are still staff shortages in the industry because of the low wages.
