The "Justice for All" initiative is organising a flashlights-lit protest this evening in front of Sofia Courthouse against the procedures for electing a Prosecutor General and a President of the Supreme Administrative Court, carried out by the Supreme Judicial Council, whose mandate has expired.

On 17 December, the initiative called on MPs, with the exception of those from DPS - New Beginning of Delyan Peevski, to speed up the adoption of amendments to the Judiciary Act in order to stop the election procedures for the two positions.

The only candidate for the post of Chief Prosecutor is the current acting head, Borislav Sarafov, recalls BNR reporter Silvia Velikova. In a statement, the initiative criticises Sarafov for "taking the Prosecutor's Office back to the era of political trials that serve someone's autocratic power, which threatens the rule of law and democracy".
