President Radev: Hostilities in Ukraine can be brought to an end with clear political will

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev gave a lecture on the prospects and challenges for young people at the University of National and World Economy in Sofia. At the end of his speech, he answered questions from students.

Asked about the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, he said that diplomacy should precede bombs and missiles, not follow them to contain the consequences. "I am convinced that hostilities can be stopped if there is a clear political will and if diplomacy is allowed to prevail, not just ambitious politicians and generals. The core value of diplomacy is to prevent conflict. In recent years, we have increasingly violated this principle, and this is because, in my opinion, life has ceased to be a fundamental human value," the President stressed.

According to him, an infinite number of wrong strategic decisions have been made in the war in Ukraine, and the cost is now almost a million dead and maimed.
