A national meeting on the topic "Activating the work of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Bulgaria to ensure zero tolerance in countering cases of violence" will be held today. It is initiated by Acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov. The administrative heads of prosecution offices in the country and the Ministry of Interior will also participate at the meeting.
The meeting is prompted by the escalation of cases of violence in recent months, the press center of the Prosecutor's Office said. The national meeting will discuss measures to combat crime in coordination between the Prosecutor’s Office, the General Directorate National Police, the General Directorate Combating Organized Crime and regional directorates of the Ministry of Interior.
A few days ago, Borislav Sarafov ordered the heads of regional and district prosecutor’s offices in the country to demand immediate action from the Ministry of Interior in connection with domestic violence and the increasing cases of violence committed on hooligan or discriminatory motives in public places and while driving motor vehicles.
