In the largest village in the Stara Zagora region, Hrishteni, the traditional autumn "Persimmon Festival" will be held for the 18th time. Persimmon is present in almost every yard, which is why there is a celebration in November when the fruit ripens.
The whole day will be filled with fun and will pass under the motto "To be healthy and happy, eat persimmons from Hrishteni", the organizers from the local community center and the town hall say.
At the "Made in Hrishteni" bazaar exhibition, visitors will be able to try persimmon brandy, as well as other sweet delights. The children from "Lilia" kindergarten and the students from "Hristo Botev" primary school will delight people with their creations dedicated to the fruit. The celebration will begin with a festive liturgy and will end with a performance by the Stara Zagora Orchestra.
"Our main goal is to preserve and popularize Bulgarian folk traditions, customs and folk songs as a source of the eternal strength of the Bulgarian spirit, carrying the messages of our national culture", the organizers say.
