The prosecutor, overseeing the criminal proceedings against Dzheyhan Ibryamov, MP in the 51st National Assembly from the Alliance for Rights and Freedoms, affiliated with Ahmed Dogan, has submitted a proposal to acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov to seek permission of the new parliament for the reopening of the criminal proceedings against Ibryamov.

Two charges are cited for which evidence has been collected – trading in influence in connection with a Ministry of Health public contract, and fraud in connection with a Ministry of Defence public contract.

There are two ways to waive the immunity of a member of parliament – either voluntary relinquishment of immunity, or establishing an ad hoc commission in parliament and voting in plenary.
