A film about Alzek Misheff opens the Bulgarian Cinema Days in Bratislava

The Bulgarian Cinema Days in Slovakia will be officially opened tonight at 18.30 at the Lumiere cinema in Bratislava with the premiere of the documentary film "Flying with Fins". The film by director Maria Averina is dedicated to the remarkable Bulgarian-Italian avant-garde artist Alzek Misheff. It was awarded the prestigious Best Bulgarian Documentary Award at the Master of Art 2024 festival, presented by the State Institute of Culture under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria.

The Days of Bulgarian Cinema festival in Slovakia will continue with the screening of four other films presenting contemporary Bulgarian cinema in its diversity of genres and themes - "Because I Love Bad Weather", "Memoir of a Betrayal", "Plague", "To put it Mildly". All films will be shown in their original version with Czech subtitles. Admission is free. Tickets can be booked in advance on the Lumiere Cinema website or collected at the door on the day of the screening.

There will also be two screenings - "Flying with Fins" and "Blaga's Lessons" - on October 10 at the SNP Museum in Banská Bystrica.
