Scientists hold lecture about counterfeiting of ancient coins and objects in Bulgaria

The National Ethnographic Museum in Sofia hosts a seminar on "Forgeries and counterfeiting of ancient coins and objects in Bulgaria". The lecturers - Prof. Ilya Prokopov and Prof. Dilyana Boteva, will present periods of the development of counterfeiting in Bulgaria, technologies, distribution and detection methods. Demonstration and practical participation of the attendees is also planned.

Before the seminar, the National Ethnographic Museum - from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with free entry - will provide an opportunity шд those who wish to get acquainted with the exhibition "Fake (f)or Real", which is a guest from the House of European History in Brussels.

Prof. Ilya Prokopov is a leading expert worldwide on counterfeits of ancient and medieval coins. Prof. Dilyana Boteva is among the initiators and creators of the Ancient Coins Counterfeits Scientific Network and a long-time lecturer of ancient history at "St. Kliment Ohridski” University.
