Just a few days after the official recognition of the world record of Tsanko Tsankov for the longest continuous and unassisted swim on the Danube River, the World Records Association cancelled his achievement.

"After a detailed review of new evidence regarding the record and consultation with international authorities, we have decided to cancel this world record. Our commitment to preserving the transparency and integrity of the verification process is paramount to maintaining the highest standards," the association said in a statement sent to the Sportal.bg website.

The swimmer's team told the media that they have not received an official document from the World Records Association and promised more information at a briefing on Monday.
