“You have the challenging but noble mission to mould knowledgeable, competent and highly responsible individuals, but most of all good and honest people, worthy citizens of the country and of the world,” said Education Minister Galin Tsokov in an address on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day.

In his address to teachers, Minister Tsokov stated that in the coming generations it is highly-educated nations that will prosper, nations whose citizens have the knowledge and the skills to tackle the challenges of the future and capable of constantly improving on them. “These are skills formed at an early age by dedicated and capable teachers. That is why teachers form the basis of the success and prosperity of any society,” he added.

92,619 is the number of pedagogical specialists in the system of pre-school and school education in this country, according to data of the Ministry of Education and Science. Fifteen percent of them are under 35, and 2% are working pensioners.
