Bulgaria’s Minister of Defence Atanas Zapryanov described as fake news the reports about terrorist threats against Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) from Bulgarian territory. ''Bulgaria contributes to the peace and security of Bosnia and Herzegovina by participating in the European Union's operations. These are insinuations and fake news", said Minister Zapryanov as quoted by BTA.

Earlier, the Sarajevo-based media outlet "Dnevni avaz", citing a source from Bosnia and Herzegovina’s State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), reported that terrorist threats against military and industrial facilities in BiH had been received from Bulgarian IP addresses in recent days. SIPA stated that "a check is currently being made to identify the exact sender". Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Armed Forces "raised its security alert level" due to the threats against military sites and factories. The latest threats were sent at 3:00 PM local time on October 1.
