The caretaker government has adopted National Program for Prevention and Protection from Domestic Violence for the period 2024-2026, the press service of the Council of Ministers reports.

The planned measures will cost more than 3.1 million euros. Most of the funds will be used for the prevention of aggression in home. The program also includes training for all professional groups dealing with the problem. It is expected that at the end of the period, hundreds of teachers, social workers, medical specialists, municipal officials and officials of the Ministry of Interior will be able to prevent domestic violence and to quickly recognize cases of aggression that have already taken place, as well as to react adequately with measures to protect the victims.

The state will finance programs for social and psychological work with perpetrators of domestic violence. National information campaigns, conferences, seminars and meetings are also planned.
