Bulgaria must send changes to the Recovery and Resilience Plan by October 20 in order not to lose funds

The changes to the Recovery and Resilience Plan must be sent no later than October 20, so that the European Commission can accept them and Bulgaria does not lose funds. This was stated at a briefing by the caretaker Minister of Finance Ludmila Petkova. Bulgaria is the only EU country that received just the first transfer under the plan. Petkova pointed out that the second payment has not been made, as it is related to certain reforms. The Roadmap to Climate Neutrality is part of them. If the roadmap is not accepted, the financial correction will be EUR 266 million, which represents more than 30% of the requested second payment of EUR 653 million.

Yesterday, the National Assembly did not accept the planned changes in the Recovery and Resilience Plan related to recultivation of the "Maritsa East" Mines grounds. The last session of the 50th parliament last night ended with a scandal after some of the MPs occupied the rostrum and opposed the discussion of changes in the plan.
