Triumph, the film by the directorial tandem Kristina Grozeva and Petar Valchanov, won the grand prix for feature film at the 42nd Golden Rose Bulgarian Feature Film Festival in Varna.
The film was also awarded the prize for screenplay, written by the two co-directors, together with Decho Taralezhkov, as well as the award for best actress – for Margita Gosheva and Maria Bakalova.
The special jury award went to Nadezhda Koseva’s The Trap, which also grabbed the cinematography award – for Kiril Propanov. Pavel Vesnakov won the award for direction for the film Windless. At the award ceremony it was announced he has been nominated for the European Film Awards. The prize for best short film went to The Reptiles, a Bulgaria-France co-production.
