We must modernize and rejuvenate the United Nations (UN) to ensure that it remains relevant and able to meet the challenges of the 21st century. This message was delivered by Bulgaria's Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev at the Summit of the Future in New York, the government press center reported. Reforming also includes changing the Security Council to better reflect the current global reality, Glavchev said.

He specifically emphasized the ambitious Pact for the Future, which embodies almost 80 years of multilateral and national UN experience to create a “safer, more sustainable and fairer world. The basis of these efforts is the rule of law, which is essential for the observance of international norms, justice and the promotion of global cooperation," Glavchev pointed out.

Within the framework of the summit, the Pact for the Future proposed by the UN Secretary General is expected to be adopted, the purpose of which is the revival of international relations as a tool for dealing with major global challenges. Russia tried to postpone the vote on the Pact, but this request was opposed by 143 countries.
