Central Electoral Commission refuses to register both fractions of MRF

The Central Election Commission has refused to register the coalition "Democracy, Rights and Freedoms - MRF" and "MRF - New Beginning" for participation in the upcoming early parliamentary elections on October 27, BTA reported.

The reason is that according to the Electoral Code, there cannot be the same party in more than one coalition.

Last week, the CEC registered without an entry number the two coalitions "Democracy, Rights and Freedoms - MRF" and "MRF - New Beginning", with the condition that they provide by 5:00 p.m. on September 7, documents certifying that the MRF party is not part of their composition.

However, such documents were not provided by both factions of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS in Bulgarian).
