Hello, dear friends! We are happy to announce that after the release of the new QSL cards of Radio Bulgaria and the Bulgarian National Radio, we received an avalanche of letters. In July alone, they are almost 400! Our readers and listeners from Germany and India were the most active.
"I enjoy reading your website and listening to the daily podcast summarizing the most important news. You have very detailed information about Bulgarian politics, economy, culture and social issues in German language that I can't find anywhere else. There is only sporadic information about Bulgaria in the local mass media. Anyone who is interested in Bulgaria, whether politics, economics, culture or social issues, who wants to know what the most beautiful travel destinations in Bulgaria are, where you can immerse yourself in the cultural history of the Balkans, will have to painstakingly collect their own information. I can always learn a lot of new and interesting things about Bulgaria when browsing your website. Thank you for this great information offer", we learn from Ralf Urbanczyk from Germany.

And this is what Siegbert Gerhard wrote to us: "Dear friends from Radio Bulgaria, thank you very much for the German programs of the BNR. The songs of the day are wonderful, the music is worth listening to. The surprising, fantastic culinary tour whetted my appetite and ignited my desire to visit your beautiful country".

"I always listen to your programs and enjoy the program regularly. Thank you very much for the good content", write Mr. Reyansh and Ram Kumar from India.

"Dear Radio Bulgaria Team! I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for the QSL cards you sent me. I was thrilled to receive them and truly appreciate the effort you put into recognizing your listeners. Your broadcasts are a joy to listen to, and receiving the QSL cards have made my experience even more special", writes Muhammad Aqeel Bashir from Pakistan.

"I hope you are enjoying the middle of summer. So this summer, I will walk through the streets of Valladolid enduring the heat, but always keeping in touch with his radio station during my free moments at home. I hope to continue collecting your beautiful QSL for many years to come. Receive a warm embrace from a friend who listens to you from afar and feels close to you through the radio", writes Juan Carlos Pérez Montero from Spain.

"Recently, I have been making an effort to listen to your station as much as time permits. Through your programs, I think I have come to understand a little more about Bulgaria, which I did not know much about before. I hope that you will continue to broadcast your enjoyable programs". writes Hiroshi Katayama from Japan, a listener of our English-language podcasts.

Radio Bulgaria's correspondence in Turkish is very active

Hedie Ali describes how they listen to Radio Bulgaria in her village of Iskra: "Our village is very nice, the people are hard-working and the land is fertile. This year there is a big drought. In the village, a "Prayer for the Rain" is organized. The whole village gathers to listen to your broadcasts, we learn the news from you, we are waiting for you to tell us about the weather. You have shows for every taste - for those of us who are abroad, for the harvest, for the culture! Thank you for being there!

And in a postcard, the family Naime and Fekin Yozden wrote to us:

"Hello. We are emigrants from the town of General Toshevo, Dobrich region. We lived for many years in Cyprus, we retired and now we have returned to Bulgaria and live in the village of Bojurovo, Dobrich region. We listen to you in Bulgaria and we really like your shows. We are currently in Turkey, Cappadocia, visiting our daughter Muntekha. And here we do not miss not a single show! We greet you cordially".

The letters in which you tell about your first contact with our radio are very interesting

"I love listening to radio. In fact, I practise a hobby called DXing, which consists in listening to radio stations. When I listen to a new one, I write to them to send a reception report to demonstrate my reception and ask for a confirmation of my reception. Obviously, I would like to get such a confirmation from your station", writes another listener from Spain Artur Fernández Llorella.

"As my hobby is listening to remote radio stations, I was very pleased to hear your station", shares Patrick Robic from Austria.

There are also quite a few distant friends who, after getting to know our programs, hope to visit Bulgaria

"Hello, dear team of the Bulgarian National Radio! Now I am eagerly waiting for the opening of the borders between Russia and the EU, so that I can see with my own eyes the beauty sealed on your new QSL-cards. Thank you also for the feedback, for the interest in your audience. This kind of communication sets me up to continue the interesting dialogue with you," wrote Igor Kolke from Russia.

"I Had the pleasure in receiving your Horizont Program via Vidin on 576 kHz. Never been to Bulgaria - but hope to go there one day for a holiday! ", writes Simon-Peter Liehr.

"Thank you for the interesting report about the Black Sea town of Pomorie. I was able to learn a lot of new, interesting information about this unique town. In addition to the Thracian burial mound, which is presented in detail in the program, I would visit the monastery of Saint George, which is only briefly introduced in today's program, when visiting Pomorie. I already saw pictures of this religious place in Pomorie that amazed and awed me", continues Ralf Urbanczyk.

And the most important thing: thanks and wishes for our work don't stop pouring in:

"Dear friends of my favorite station, I am listening to your broadcasts and enjoying your excellent programs as always", writes Dewan Rafiqul Islam from Bangladesh.

"Congratulations on the program and your work," wrote Carlos Daniel R. da Silva from Brazil.

"From your shows, I always get very interesting information about your country and your culture", says in gratitude Wolfgang Maschke from Germany.

"I am very happy to contact you again to inform you that I enjoy listening to the program of Radio Bulgaria, as well as the other programs of your radio," wrote Eudson de Lima from Brazil.

"Hello! Mohamed Bouzebuja from Algeria greeted us. "As an avid listener of BNR, I would like to congratulate the entire radio team for all the broadcasts and wish you success in the future."

Andree Bollin from Gerrmany shares the following story with a sense of humour: "My hobby is listening to foreign FM radio stations. I  listened to Radio Varna my car here when my goes shopping. I have to set priorities, either shopping with my wife or listening to Radio Varna 😀😀 Unfortunately the reception was short."

And we end with a pleasant piece of information for us, which our German listener Helmut Matt tells us: "I always enjoy listening to your broadcasts. I also have one news that will interest you. My new book is out. This time about the radio - "Radio - the sound of the world. The waves that connect". "Radio Bulgaria" (formerly "Radio Sofia") is mentioned in the book several times".

Thank you for this recognition and for all the wonderful and warm words about us!
