Diseases of the circulatory system are the major mortality factor in Bulgaria. The second group of causes are oncological diseases followed by respiratory diseases, shows an analysis based on data from the 2021 census in Bulgaria, combined with mortality data for the country, the National Statistical Institute has announced.  Life expectancy is different for the different ethnic groups in the country. The life expectancy for ethnic Bulgarian women it is 78.6 years, for women from the Turkish ethnic group - 76.9, for women from the Roma ethnic group - 71 years. The life expectancy for ethnic Bulgarian men is 70.8, for men of the ethnic Turkish group – 70.5 and for Roma men – 65.7 years.
