Games, film screenings, bird watching and outdoor concerts are just some of the events within the Seventh edition of the Vulture Festival, which will be held from September 6 to 8 in the town of Madzharovo. The event will mark the International Vulture Awareness Day. The globally endangered bird of prey inhabits the rocky slopes of the Eastern Rhodopes in Bulgaria.
The festival will kick off on the evening of September 6 with concerts by the bands "Karandila" and "ZoR Major", said the Rewilding Rhodopes Foundation which organizes the three-day event.
On Saturday, the youngest nature enthusiasts will participate in the game "Eco-Adventurers Seek Vultures". It will introduce them to the extraordinary lives of these magestic birds and the challenges they face for survival. There will also be screenings of some of the best wildlife films with a special focus on vultures. Visitors can explore the exhibition "The Wilder Wonders of the Rhodopes", displayed at the Eastern Rhodopes Nature Conservation Center.
