Two little lynxes, born on June 11 of this year, are enjoying themselves in the capital's Zoo, Sofia Zoo announced. Their mother Quanta comes from the Munich Zoo, and their father Morgul comes from Vienna's Schönbrunn.

Eurasian lynxes are included in the European Studbook of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria and their population is used to protect and restore this threatened species in Europe. In Bulgaria's Red Book of Endangered Species, they appear in the "Critically Endangered Species" category.

The ittle lynxes can now feed themselves with small pieces of meat handed to them on a stick by the keepers. The two babies have an older sister, Rita, who lives with Quanta and Morgul. Visitors can see them in the afternoon when they are usually displayed.

The zoo also has newborn Asian otters.
