Unemployment in Bulgaria has dropped by 7.6% on an annual basis

The unemployment rate in Bulgaria stood at 5.41% in July, the National Employment Agency says.

152,844 is the number of unemployed persons registered last month, and 14,542 started work. An increase in the number of job vacancies has been registered, with teachers, workers in mining, the processing and the food industry in demand most. According to the National Statistical Institute, in June there were 130,300 unemployed, 55.1% of them men and 44.9% women. Compared to a year earlier the number of unemployed persons has gone down by 107,000 or 7.6%. The total number of economically inactive persons over the age of 15 is 2,449,000, of them 40.4% are men and 59.6% women.
