Customs officials have discovered a record amount of 436 kg of heroin hidden in machines transported by sea to Burgas. This is the largest amount of heroin seized so far in Burgas.

The heroin was found on August 9 during an inspection of a trailer that arrived by ship from the Georgian city of Batumi to one of the Burgas ports. According to documents, 4 cable-laying machines were transported in it with a destination from Kyrgyzstan to Greece via Bulgaria. The packets of the drug were found in cavities in the machines, which were welded and without direct access.

The total value of the discovered heroin is about 35 million euros.
