Bulgaria will welcome nearly 200 students and young people from all over the world who will participate in the first International Artificial Intelligence Olympiad created by Bulgarians

44 teams have confirmed their participation in the competition, two of which are Bulgarian. This was announced at a press conference by the Minister of Education and Science Galin Tsokov.

The main sponsor of the event, which will be held from 9 to 15 August in the city of Burgas, is Google. This is an indicator of the importance of the event, the minister said.

The AI competition consists of two segments - scientific and practical. The main focus is on machine learning, natural language processing and computer vision. In the practical round, students will be tasked with creating a widely understood product - audio, video or image.

So far this year, Bulgarian students have won 58 medals from international Olympiads, it became clear at the press conference.
