Badminton players Gabriela and Stefani Stoeva have qualified for the quarterfinals of Olympic Games for the first time in their careers.

The sisters from Haskovo overcame their Group B at the Paris 2024 women's doubles tournament. They recorded their second win in the stream - 2:0 (18, 12) games in 38 minutes against Americans Annie Xu and Kerry Xu.
The Stoeva sisters had previously participated twice at Olympic games both times finishing 9th in the final standings - in Rio de Janeiro 2016 and Tokyo 2020.

Now the Bulgarians are guaranteed a position at least between the 5th and 8th place in the French capital.

The rivals of Stefani and Gabriela in the dispute for a place in the semi-finals will be between the winners of the duel between Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning (China) and  Yeung Nga Ting and Yeung Pui Lam (Hong Kong).
