Bulgaria wins 3 medals at the European Girls’ Olympiad in Informatics

The Bulgarian national informatics team won 3 medals and an honorary diploma at the 4th European Girls’ Olympiad in Informatics. The competition was held from July 21 to 27 in Veldhoven, the Netherlands, said the team leader Rumen Mihov.

196 girls from 57 countries participated in the Olympiad. Simona Hristova took the gold medal. Nora Paskaleva and Nermin Idiriz won silver medals. An honorary diploma was awarded to Reni Paskaleva. This is the first gold medal for Bulgaria at the European Girls’ Olympiad in Informatics and the best performance by Bulgarian girls so far. Bulgaria is an active participant and organizer of informatics competitions. The first International Olympiad in Informatics was held in Bulgaria in 1989.
