The Canadian basketball club Toronto Raptors has officially announced that it is releasing the best Bulgarian basketball player Aleksandar (Sasha) Vezenkov. This puts an end to speculations about the Bulgarian's future in the NBA.

Vezenkov now joins those who voluntarily gave up the option to continue with the "dinosaurs". In about 48 hours, he will be free to sign with Greek giants Olympiacos.
Spotrac's Keith Smith reports that the winger has given up his entire salary for next season 2024/25 worth $6,658,536 to join Olympiacos.

The former EuroLeague MVP averaged 5.4 points and 2.3 rebounds per game in his debut campaign in the USA with the Sacramento Kings. He was subsequently sold to Toronto Raptors.

Vezenkov has accepted a five-year offer from Olympiacos worth 17 million euros.
