The standard of living in Sofia and some larger cities in Bulgaria is high. However, more attention should be paid to the regions of the country that are significantly lagging behind in terms of income, economist Georgi Vuldzhev has told Radio "Focus".

At the same time, the average salary in the capital Sofia, according to the latest data, is nearly 1,533.88 EUR and is comparable to salaries in a number of other European cities. "It's even higher than Athens, it's comparable to that of Budapest," Vuldzhev said.
