The national volleyball team of Bulgaria for girls under 18 years of age became European volleyball champion.

In the final of the championship in Romania and Greece, the Bulgarian team led by Antonina Zetova defeated Belgium 3:0 (25:15, 25:18, 28:26).

For the first time in the history of Bulgarian volleyball, Bulgaria has European champions in the juniors' competitions.

The last such success for Bulgarian volleyball for women was in 1981, when Bulgaria's women's national team became European champions in Sofia.

The match in the Romanian city of Blaj was completely controlled by the Bulgarian team, which was more than decisive in all three games.

Everything in the Bulgarian game was going right from the start, and the players had the advantage in attack, on the blockade, on the service and in defence.
