Bulgaria’s Head of State Rumen Radev awarded the Honorary Plaque of the President to the national women's U18 volleyball team. The award is for outstanding merits in the development of Bulgarian sport and the first place won at the 2024 Women's U18 Volleyball European Championship.

The ceremony was attended by the team's head coach Antonina Zetova and the President of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation Lubomir Ganev.

''You are a bright example that Bulgaria has and will continue to have its golden girls, not only in rhythmic gymnastics, but also in volleyball, a sport we all love so much", said President Radev.

"You are the epitome of the strength of the unyielding Bulgarian spirit and the will to win", said President Radev. Rumen Radev recalled that a year ago, he awarded the men's U21 national volleyball team that won bronze medals at the Volleyball Men’s U21 World Championship in Bahrain.
