Weather forecast for 16 July

Red heat alert for Blagoevgrad, Ruse, Pleven, Veliko Tarnovo; orange for the rest of the country

Tuesday will be sunny and very hot. Minimum temperatures will be between 17 and 23°C, 17°C in Sofia. Maximum temperatures will be between 37 and 42°C, 37°C in the capital.  A red heat warning has been issued for the districts of Blagoevgrad, Ruse, Pleven and Veliko Tarnovo, and an orange warning for the rest of the country. 

Along the Black Sea coast it will be sunny with a moderate east-northeast breeze. Air temperatures will reach 30-35°C. The sea temperature will be 27°C. The sea swell will be 2-3. 

Over the mountains it will be sunny with some clouds in the afternoon. Maximum temperatures will reach 32°C at 1,200 m and 24°C at 2,000 m.

Wednesday will remain very hot. Temperatures will be around and above 40°C.
