On this day in 1991 the Seventh Grand National Assembly adopted the new Constitution of Bulgaria and dissolved itself, BTA recalls. This was the first new constitution in the former socialist camp, which came into effect the very next day, July 13.
On the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of its adoption, President Rumen Radev pointed out in his position that we should remember with respect the people's representatives from the Seventh Great National Assembly, who put human rights, our national and state unity before their political differences. The President also noted that the basic law is based on timeless universal human values that must be remembered and defended every day.
