More than 300 bible researchers attend international conference in Sofia

Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski is to play host to more than 300 scholars from all over the world at the traditional international conference of the European Association of Biblical studies. The forum is to take place at the rectorate of the university July 15-18, with a diverse programme of events dedicated to different aspects of biblical studies, the Bulgarian news agency BTA reports.

In the course of three days more than 20 scientific panels will be held. The participants will take part in discussions on topics like the history of the bible, biblical language and literature, archaeology, biblical theology and ethics. Three expositions will be presented as part of the conference: the interactive exhibition “In the beginning was the word” in the lobby of the rectorate, “Under the protection of the sacred” at the Saints Cyril and Methodius National Library and “The Bible and its researchers” at the university library.

The opening of the prestigious forum is on 15 July in the grand hall of Sofia University.
