The honorary chairman of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, Ahmed Dogan, has organised a meeting of some of the party members in his summer residence "Rosenets", bTV reported. The MPs and members of the movement who supported him, including the co-chairman Dzhevdet Chakarov, received an invitation, but not the other leader, Delyan Peevski.
The tension in the party emerged after some of the DPS MPs supported the draft cabinet of GERB-SDS in the plenary hall, despite Ahmed Dogan's call to vote "against". Later, DPS co-chairman Dhzevdet Chakarov told journalists that the party's collective bodies have not been working for a year and it must return to normality. According to him, in the coming days the honorary chairman Ahmed Dogan will make a speech in which he will announce the decisions taken at today's meeting.
According to Dhzevdet Chakarov, efforts should be made to form a government, as early elections were not a good move. "We expect positive steps and decisions from the people who have supported us in the country, in Turkey, and in Europe," the party co-chairman said.
