If a referendum was held on whether to continue the country's membership in NATO, 59% of Bulgarians would answer affirmatively, according to a study by the Alliance.

According to this indicator, Bulgaria ranks penultimate among the 32 member countries, as only Slovenia is behind it with 58%, while the leaders are Albania, Poland and Lithuania with 98, 91 and 88 percent, respectively. Thirty percent of Bulgarians have no opinion on the matter, while 11% would vote to leave NATO.

The survey also shows that if the answer "I don't know how I would vote" is excluded, 66% of Bulgarians would support the country remaining part of the Alliance. As for aid to Ukraine, 56% of Bulgarians are against its continuation, while 41% hold the opposite opinion.

The survey was conducted before the upcoming summit in Washington, which will be held from July 9 to 11 this year.
