The General Directorate for Combating Organised Crime has taken part in an international operation led by the French authorities, which blocked a website considered to be a communication channel of organised crime groups, the press centre of the Ministry of Interior reported.

The international investigation also involved specialised structures from Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands and Hungary. It is against the coco.gg platform and was launched in December 2023, after it was found that more than 23,000 legal proceedings related to it had been initiated from 1 January 2021 to 7 May 2024, and the site was blocked on 25 June.

Investigators say it was used as a communication channel between organised groups in the commission of a wide range of crimes - child pornography, pimping, prostitution, drug trafficking, money laundering, criminal conspiracy, assault and even murder. It is estimated that there are over 480 victims.

The work of the international team on the case continues.
