The Council of Ministers decided to close the honorary consulate of Bulgaria in Montreal, Canada. The consular district is being closed at the request of the former Honorary Consul Georgi Panicherski, who requested to be released from his functions. Panicherski was appointed in 2001 and worked for decades for the cooperation between Bulgaria and Canada both at the federal, provincial and local level. He is the organizer of the first "Bulgarian Days in Montreal" and is the founder and acting chairman of the Canada-Bulgaria Business Council.
