Bulgaria will receive €65.2 million from the EU for a project to reinforce the electricity grid to better support the integration of renewable energy, the European Commission said in a statement.

The money is part of a total of nearly €3 billion that the EU is making available through its Modernisation Fund to support 39 projects in 10 member states, BNR correspondent Angelina Piskova reports from Brussels. The fund aims to help 13 low-income countries in the EU, including Bulgaria, in their transition to climate neutrality.
