The Bulgarian National Radio Folk Orchestra, conducted by Dimitar Hristov, closes the season tonight (June 20) with a concert featuring only premiere pieces. The program includes 17 new compositions and arrangements of songs performed by prominent soloists who have participated in the orchestra's recordings over the past season. The concert will feature seven debut performances by guest soloists, including singers Sonya Kovachka, Galya Gilyova, Lora Asenova and Roman Romanov, accordionist Plamen Dimitrov, kaval player Damyan Dimov and bagpiper Rumen Monev.
For the first time, the latest pieces by the orchestra’s soloists Hristina Beleva (gadulka) and Petar Milanov (tambura) will be performed.
New pieces will be presented by several ensembles - the trio Nedyalko Nedyalkov, Martin Vladimirov and Petar Milanov, the trio Biser Sokolov, Kostadin Genchev and Kristian Tsvyatkov, as well as the quartet Georgi Dobrev, Borislav Galabov, Hristiyan Tsvyatkov and Kaloyan Minchev.
The pieces included in this last concert of the 2023/2024 season are authored and arranged by Georgi Andreev, Dimitar Hristov, Kostadin Genchev, Angel Dobrev, Peyo Peev, Borislav Zgurovski, Stoyan Paurov, Yordan Danev, Petar Milanov, Nedyalko Nedyalkov, Biser Sokolov, Plamen Dimitrov, Rumen Monev and Damyan Dimov.
