A group of extremely beautiful and exotic monkeys - colobus monkeys, can now be seen in the Sofia Zoo. The colobuses can now be found in the building of the second monkey house, and some of the best large and spacious enclosures have been prepared for them, the zoo's director Dobromir Borislavov told BTA.

Colobus monkeys are a rare and endangered monkey species that inhabits the forests of equatorial Africa. They feed on leaves, branches and fruits. But now they will also eat ... ice cream.

"We are entering the 'ice cream season' and we are starting to prepare frozen fruit and treats for our pets," says Dobromir Borislavov. He adds that the animals at the Sofia Zoo love the frozen treats because they bring them great cooling in the heat.

Just recently, on the occasion of World Bear Day, the bears at the zoo received chilled honey to make them feel more special on the festive day!
