Contestants from 3 continents to run in Rhodo Rock ultramarathon in Momchilgrad

Almost 350 contestants from 3 continents – Europe, Asia and America – have applied for participation in the first Rhodo Rock ultramarathon organized by Momchilgrad municipality, the Bulgarian news agency BTA has reported, citing the organizers. Besides Bulgaria, the participants are from Turkey, Mexico, Russia, Romania, the Republic of Korea, Germany. The marathon runners will cover distances of 9 kms., 23 kms. and 53 kms. The start will be given at 8 AM today from the city park in Momchilgrad.

“The route is very scenic, passing through woodland, and offering a view to local landmarks like Harman Kaya rock complex,” says Nikolay Kolev from the iRun sports club, one of the organizers of the event.
