The quality of seawater along Bulgaria's Black Sea coast is excellent, according to the first samples taken at the end of May before the start of the summer season.

This was announced at the Shkorpilovtsi resort in the Varna region by the ministers of Environment and Water - Petar Dimitrov, Tourism - Evtim Miloshev and Health - Galya Kondeva, reports BNR correspondent in Varna Daniela Stoynova.

Minister Miloshev noted that exactly one year ago today, news of what had happened to the Nova Kakhovka dam in Ukraine was reported, and soon after that, there were allegations of water pollution along Bulgaria's Black Sea coast. This misinformation had a negative impact on the summer season.

"This year we have a record 23 Blue Flags, which is related to the cleanliness and maintenance of the coastline and beaches," said Minister Miloshev, adding: "Our sea is clean, our water is wonderful! Welcome to the Bulgarian Black Sea coast!
